1. Information We Collect
When you register on Ministry of Adventures, we collect your email address, name, and profile information you choose to provide (city, state, vehicles, bio, emergency contact name and phone number for safety purposes during events). You can also register or log in using Google or Apple Sign-In, in which case we receive your name and email address from that provider. When you join clubs or register for events, we record that activity on your profile.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to operate the MOA platform โ to display your profile, manage club memberships, process event registrations, and send you notifications relevant to your account. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Photos and Camera
MOA requests access to your camera and photo library so you can take or choose photos for your profile picture, adventure logs, vehicle listings, and โ if you manage a club, hotel, or marketplace listing โ cover images and galleries for those listings. We only access your camera or photo library when you choose to add a photo; MOA does not access your photos in the background.
4. Push Notifications
MOA uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you push notifications about your account, club, and event activity. To do this, we store a device notification token linked to your account. You can turn off notifications at any time from your device settings or in-app notification preferences.
5. Payments
Paid memberships, event registrations, and other purchases on MOA are processed through Razorpay, a third-party payment processor. We store the order ID, payment ID, payment method, amount, and status of each transaction to confirm your purchase and provide support โ MOA does not store your full card, UPI, or bank account details; these are handled directly by Razorpay under its own privacy policy.
6. Location Data
Ministry of Adventures collects precise (GPS) and approximate location data to power its core adventure-tracking features:
- Adventure recording: When you tap "Start Adventure," we continuously record your GPS position โ including while the app is in the background or your screen is off โ until you tap "End Adventure." This builds your route, distance, and duration. Tracking never runs outside an active recording session.
- Ride Back (live tracking): During an active Ride Back session, your live GPS position is periodically sent to our servers so we can guide you back along your recorded route.
- Nearby places: Approximate location may be used to show nearby hotels, clubs, or events relevant to you.
On Android we request "Allow all the time" (background) location access, and on iOS we request "Always" location access, specifically so recording can continue while you ride or trek with your phone screen off. You can deny background/always access and still use the app, but adventure recording will pause when the app is backgrounded.
Your recorded routes are private by default beyond your own profile. If you enable "Show footprint" in your profile settings, your route may appear on the public Explore map for other users โ in that case, the start and end points of your route are masked within a radius (default 200 metres, configurable in settings) to protect your home or starting location. You can disable footprint sharing at any time in your profile settings.
We retain location/route data for as long as your account and the associated adventure record exist, and delete it when you delete the adventure or your account (see Section 10, Your Rights).
7. Data Visibility
Your public profile (name, city, adventure history) is visible to other MOA users. Your email address is never displayed publicly. Club admins can see the names and contact details of members who have joined their club. If you list a hotel or marketplace item, the contact phone number and WhatsApp number you provide for that listing are shown publicly so buyers/guests can reach you.
8. Cookies
MOA uses session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics may be added in future and will be disclosed here.
9. Data Security
All data is stored on secured servers. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS across all pages.
10. Your Rights
You can delete your account at any time from Profile โ Settings โ Delete Account in the app, or by following the steps on our Account Deletion page. Deleting your account removes your personal profile data, including recorded location/route history from your profile; some records (e.g. payment history) may be retained where required for legal or accounting purposes, as described on that page. You can also disable footprint sharing or revoke location permission at any time from your device settings.
